Does anyone know what exactly I need to get to start doing my own acrylic nails? I'm very new to the idea, and I'm going to the salon this week to have mine done actually, but I was really thinking about trying it at home. Any tips would be great, thanks. :)

You can get acrylic nail kits for like $10 I believe at Walgreen's, KMart, Walmart, etc. but they don't come with the LED light so you have to get it separate. My tip for doing it at home is you need a steady hand to apply the powder right. I did mine once before and didn't work out so well. Lol. I hope it goes well! Be sure to post it when you do! :))

It helps to have a friend do it if you're nervous. My friend did mine and they turned out amazing and she did her own and looked like mine but we didn't use the led lights.

Harley is right you can get kits at walmart. but you don't need to buy a light. the light just speeds up drying, the only time light is required for nails is with gel nails.

Patience is important. And don't expect them to look professional on your first try. It takes practice to get them right. But I do my own acrylics and it definitely saves money. :)

Thanks everyone. I'm anxious to try it out, and I'll definitely post pics once I do it the first time. It may be a little while before I can gather enough money to buy everything and the closure Sally's store to me is like almost an hour away and I've read that's the best place to get everything professional grade. Once again thank you! :)

Sallys has kits with everything you need for about $20 and they also have a practice finger and hand!
