Does anyone know if it's bad to dye your eyebrows with the same dye you used for your hair?

Someone once told me to never do it unless it's professional.

Yes! Trust the warnings on the box. You can go blind.

I would never use a hair dye for my brows, I use a brow dye that I bought from my beautician, its a German brand I think though... mix it with a low percentage developer and walla... its a semi but lasts 3-4 weeks..

I dye my eyebrows everytime I dye my hair. With the same dye. Um, just don't get it in your eyes! I've never had a problem. I have a Sweedish friend that gets amazing eyebrow dye from over seas. I don't know why in the hell the You.S. hasn't got anything like that. Annoying. Anywho, just be careful, its all good!

Thanks for the feedback! I've been using the same dye for the past 2 years but recently had a family friend who works in a salon say it was a bad idea. Something about the chemicals being too strong? Made me wonder..

You can get your browser tinted with a vegetable based tint at pretty much any spa and it is completely safe to use around the eye area.

I am a cosmetologist and it is dangerous to use, but just about everyone I know does it anyways. Its one of those things that you have to make a personal call on, if it gets in your eye its very volatile but using brow dyeing products don't always match.
If you are going to have an allergic reaction to the dye and it is near your eyes it will cause very bad reactions- extreme swelling, possibly red boils, ect but that's on the really scary side of possibilities.
If you insist on using it, apply it with a q-tip and don't leave it on more than 15 mins at a time. It will probably only take about that long to get the hair to the color you want. And of coarse if you start to feel sick or have any kind of irritation remove all dye immediately, get to a hospital (and bring the box the dye came in) if your symptoms get worse or do not dissipate after washing out the dye.
