If I want beachy waves/ curls is a 25mm barrel good?

Yes. Just only hold your hair on it for about 4 seconds. Any longer and you'll get spiral curls.

Yes the barrels work great. I used it on my mom for a bumble surf class at my salon. When done curling try brushing out the curls softly and adding some texture creme or spray at the ends;)
