As a licensed cosmetologist I would say DONT DO IT! Especially if you have brown or dark brown hair, you will get orange straw hair :/

I did the same thing when I was 13-14 lol needless to say I only did my ends & it did not look good (looking back that is lol). Don't do it! When it comes to highlights & lightening hair I really recommend to go to a pro.

What kind of detergent..that doesn't seem safe lol...I don't want to go pro. I don't have a hair person n every single experience has been a fail and I rather mess myself up then get jacked up for 100. I know that's dumb but its true...

I did it. I have black hair & now my hair is a lighter brown. BUT. My ends are really dry. It feels like I'm cutting my hair every week. I used hydrogen peroxide & baking soda.
