Try blow drying it with a volumizing or texturizing product. My hair is fine and not particularly thick either, and I find that a simple blow out, even with nothing but heat protectant, can really help the texture be less slippery and easier to style. Also, spraying a dry shampoo into the lengths of your hair can help get some grip and texture going. I like the tresemme one for that purpose, but not as an actual dry shampoo.

A great blowout is perfect for thin limp hair! Dry the hair 90% of the way, use the air/hear at the base (roots) and run your fingertips through your hair as an extension of the dryer to get all the way through the strand. Then go back in with a round brush, use tension and get underneath the hair to re-direct the root and create volume. Steve Elias is an amazing hair artist, see if he has any tutorials on YouTube! Hope that helps.
