What are some of the best matte lipsticks out there and are they expensive?

I agree wet and wild are really good and inexpensive. Mac Lipsticks are great also but a bit pricey

NYX matte lipsticks at Ulta, they're all in between $3-$6 and they work soooo good! I have so many of them! NYX is a great quality brand that is very affordable, and their lipstick shade selection is really really good so anyone can find the color they're looking for! I also recently picked up a few of the new Kate Moss Matte lipsticks from Rimmel- they were around $3-$4 and work really, really well. I was acually very suprized because these weren't so drying like some cheap matte lipsticks, and the only downside is the color selection is very limited so I'd suggest you try looking for them at Ulta where they have a much bigger selection of drugstore.
And, I'm not sure what color you're looking for, but I do know that Revlon makes a few matte lipsticks (like: pink pout, soft nude, primrose, nude attitude,wine not, and mauve it over- just to name a few) and I personally love revlon and think an awesome color for you to try is Primrose- I'll post a picture of it below, it's gorgeous! :)

Rimmel by kate moss new collection is really wort every penny. love it. its very creamy at the same time matte.
