I'm horrible at eye shadow.. I don't know why. I can not seem to get it right without completely screwing it up, and having it all over my eyes. Then try to clean the excess eye shadow all around my eyes. I dn't know which brush is which.. and eye lash curler scares me lol :-) thanks for the help.

Never thought I would be asking about make-up at 24, but I want some real advice from real people, not make-up conpanys.

Aww lol..first off practice makes perfect so don't give up..the 3 main brushes I use is a crease brush,a flat brush, and blending brush...the flat brush is for your entire lid, crease brush is for right above your lid (basically the socket part) and the blending brush has looser and softer bristles so you can literally blend all harsh lines away...as you start using them youll see the difference along with other tools you can use...

As for your shadow if I were you start off with a very easy look...put a matte (not shimmery) color on your eyelid only...then apply a color to your crease (socket above your lid) use a warm (dark) color purple, brown, blue, whatever you like...crease brush works best for this part...go back and forth like a windshield wiper lol...then use a darker shade of the color you used in your crease to the outer corner of your eye...where your lid and crease meet..if you run your finger along in this shape (<) itll be your outter v...then just blend away any harsh lines in eyeshadow you want the colors to flow together smoothly..also always use a light or shimmery color to highlight under your brow/on your brow bone it makes such a difference..

To avoid getting eye shadow everywhere use less product on your brush..it happens to everyonee don't worry...take a bigger fluffy brush and sweep it away..or apply concealer and itll be gone :) as for the eye lash curler..its seriously one of my favorite things because I don't wear false lashes it really brightens up my eyes..its not scary at all and doesn't hurt either...just give it a try...but remember curl them before applying mascara ( or apply a thin one layer coat of mascara then curl them)

The only way to get better is to keep on trying :) I started out by watching youtube videos and googling everything and eventually practicing on myself lol...don't worry youll be ok it sounds like lots of work but it isnt bad at all...

Youtube is a life saver!! If you're like me then having someone explain it can be hard to put into practice. I have to SEE it being done. Youtube has endless tutorials for just about anything makeup. That... and just have fun with it! I perfected my makeup technique by just playing around and having fun :)

A good brush is important for eye shadow. And less is more sometimes browns and pink and purple are good for blue eyes. I wouldn't you blue though for blue eyes because it look like bruise
