No matter what I do to prevent or treat it my scalp is always dry and itchy in the winter. What are some of the best ways to take care of it?

Try using VO5 conditioning oil. It works super well for me. As well, try using rosemary water. Just boil rosemary leaves on your stove with water, then once the water has boiled, let it cool, then strain all the leaves from the water, put the water in a squeeze jar and use after you are done your shower. It works really well:)

I use LUSH soak and float solid shampoo, It works really well for me, and I personally think it smells like a campfire, I really like it, you can always ask a lush employee for a sample :)

Neutrogena t gel! It doesn't have a very pleasant smell but you really only need to use it once a week. I used it twice a week for a month and my scalp psoriasis was gone, it hasn't come back since (:
