So I'm half black half white and growing up I was always told I needed nice straight hair to be accepted and look presentable , I spent hours every morning and sometimes 3 times aday of straightening it to look nice, I've had weaves, perms, relaxers etc.and I had long beautiful hair after all that but because of lack of protien and etc.my long hair broke off from my mid back to above my shoulders... 3 years later I've been perm and relaxer free for a year and a half and I now use clip in extensions but I straighten still but not like before... Like I said at the beginning of the week I said what the hell and I washed my hair and put it in a bun and went to school , I've been natural for almost a week now and it feels good lol baby steps...

Congrats on embracing your natural texture! Just hang in there. I may be a relaxed woman myself, but I love seeing women embrace their hair. Pretty soon, you'll be comfortable rocking your curls in all of their glory. =)
