I am thinking of splurging on an Epilator very soon, but I'm just wondering if they really do work and if its worth the $100 or more for a good one or should a just save my money? Have any of you ladies tried/used one? What experience have you had with it? And what brand is best? Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)

I tried a Phillips one, I bought mid range & it was SO painful I managed one lower leg & never touch it again. I wish I'd paid more for a cordless wet/dry model as I know people who swear by these.

Pain is an understatement. I got about 4" done- that was all I could take and I have very sparse hair. I loved my home waxing kit though!! I think the heat from the wax, or the speed of pulling the muslin helps prevent pain but the emulator was just a torture device.

Thanks you guys! I went ahead and got one this afternoon. I epilated my armpits. It was pretty painful for a while, once I went over it once though, it wasn't too horrible after that. I had just shaved my legs just 2 days ago so my hair wasn't long at all, but I tried one of my legs. It was pretty painful, but like my armpits, once I swiped it once or twice, the pain was pretty tolerable. I am going to wait until my hair grows a little longer before I do the other leg. If it works like it's supposed to, and I don't have to shave for a few weeks the pain, in my opinion, will be worth it. I am pretty excited to see how it works once my hair grows.
