Hey @CaitlinM.!! So glad to know I'm not alone haha. Jk. Are you freelance?

Caitlin M.
Haha me too! I know a few people but most of my friends moved off after school so now I'm aabout the only one. But I freelance occasionally. I'm currently working on crafting projects and working to open an Etsy shop. I've been wanting a job at my local Sephora as kind of a way to break in but it hasn't been easy lol. So I decided I'd put some of my other skills to use!!
Do you freelance?

Another reason I don't freelance too often is I seem to come across a lot of people who don't understand I need to be paid for my work and materials. I'm at the point where if I'm going to keep doing this I need to be paid, you know? I don't know if its the area itself or just the people I run into.

That's awesome! Good luck on your etsy shop! I also tried getting a sephora job, I'm located in Monroeville so the only one is in JCP. Not easy at all! I mainly do freelance now. I used to work in a salon as lead MUA but the salon closed. I get a lot of the customers I had previously. I do a lot of wedding and proms. You REALLY have to work to get paid gigs though. I find some jobs on Craigslist, but not often. My most lucrative business is working with a great photographer I know, doing photoshoot makeup for model portfolio's and such. Here's my e-mail if you ever want to pass advice to eachother..

No way you're in Monroeville?! So am I haha. Most of the time at least, right now I'm away for a bit but usually I'm there. But that's the Sephora where I've been trying too and I've applied several times since its opened and I haven't ever got a call back. I've tried Ulta too and nothing there as well. I may possibly be doing makeup in a hair salon soon. Nothing is guaranteed but I'm hoping it might work out. I don't think it would be a permanent thing but I'd take it!! lol. It would look good on a resume at least. I've noticed its really hard to get paying jobs though. Which is why for the time being I'm doing the Etsy thing. I'm always on the lookout for something worthwhile though.
But my email is caitlinmanning92@gmail.com :)
