I have oily skin during the day, but I use oil control make up as well as facial cleanser. But if I don't put lotion on my dry spots on my face before I put make up on, the make up doesn't look as good. Help!

One of the better moisturizers I've tried are Murad Oil Control Mattifier and MAC Oil Control Lotion. My skin is extremely oily, so I've never found the "holy grail" whatever that means, but those two were the better of what I have tried and I keep repurchasing them :) I like the Murad one for everyday, but sometimes if I'm using my prescription topicals, my skin dries out too much so I use the MAC one (I also use it if I take a shower right before I go out at night since there's no sunscreen in it).

For primers, I again have a few that have worked pretty good, but not great. I like MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment, MAC Matte, Eve Pearl Mattifying Gel, and Laura Mercier Secret Finishes Mattifying. The Laura Mercier is meant to be applied after makeup application like a setting powder, which makes it nice for touch ups. Just be sure to pat it on instead of rubbing (which in turn would be rubbing your makeup off) and blot with a napkin or blotting paper prior, then powder if you're still shiny.

Although a lot of the products (I think maybe all actually) I mentioned have it, I am very skeptical when it comes to a product that has a lot of silicone (that slippery/velvety finish), especially if not meant for oily skin...my face will not agree with that!

Oh, a couple of foundations I like (if you think you may want to switch that up): MAC Prolongwear and Clinique Stay Matte (Clinique Superfit was better, but it's discontinued).

Sorry this is so long, but I totally feel your pain and I know oily skin sucks!!
