Ice works. But I also should say that piercing anything needs to be professionally done. If you do it you could risk infections or something could go wrong. Be careful💙

Ice. But eat piercings don't hurt. I'd recommend you get it done professionally though, piercing things yourself unless your trained isn't a good idea.

My piercer told me that ice is actually bad because it makes the skin tighten up so it takes longer for the needle to go through the layers. If you're doing a lobe piercing and have Sally's Beauty wherever you live, they sell disposable guns for $20 which is what my friend and I use when we do lobe piercings.

Make sure you sterilize the needle =] and have something behind your ear to push the needle into. Pain wise like these girls have said, just use ice =]

You can ice it to numb it then cut a potatoe in half to place against the back of your ear while your pushing the needle through. Like e1 else said though...just go get it done it less than $20, a lot less painfull and its sanitary.

Well my twin sister has done 5 of her piercings (we have really good skin) try to take some pain reilver before you try and ice,ice, ice hold it there until you really can't feel your ear. Good Luck!

I am a trained piercer. Get it done by a professional. And DO NOT go to Claire's or some mall kiosk.
A professional will use a sterile needle (not a nasty piercing "gun" that is reused and wiped down with an alcohol pad).
Your piercer will fit you with appropriate sized jewelry and tell you how to care for it.
Also,
Make sure you tip your piercer!

I know this is an older post, but where I live we have a piercing pagoda that pierces ears. (We also have a Claire's but I prefer the Pagoda). After the needle is used on one ear (so two different needles for each ear), they throw it away, they only reuse the gun. It's a little pricey, but I saw many girls whom pierced their ears at home when I was growing up that ended up with infections, and later scaring.
