Try these steps.
1. Brush through your hair before showering.
2. Use plenty of conditioner while showering and use a leave-in after if you need it.
3. Try not to brush your hair while it's wet. If you have to use a thick comb to do it.
4. Lay off the heat styling tools. Try experimenting with styles that don't require heat.
5. When getting your hair trimmed, cut about one-and-a-half inches above your split ends. Slit ends continue to split if cut less than that.
6. Use a split end treatment to prevent splitting. Like a sealing serum almost all product lines carry them
Hope that helps!!:)

Try Trimming your hair once every month it's a big sacrifice if you want long hair but it's what I did to prevent split ends
