Foundation application during the summer??

I live in Las Vegas and it gets as hot as 116 degrees during the summer! Does anyone have any tips on how to apply foundation so that it's comfortable and easier to wear during the dreaded summer heat!?

I live in California and the only recommendation I have is to use a matte setting spray.

When I went to Vegas last summer I thanked my face primer lol its Sephora brand Anti-shine face primer..its a life saver in the heat.
