So this is kinda embarrassing but I have some hair above my lip. Not enough that you can be like "oh my god that girl has a upper lip hair" but I feel really self conscious aabout it. I've read on some websites that it doesn't help, just makes it grow back thicker and faster. Any personal expericnces??

Just wax, or bleach your hairs.

I'm assuming you're talking aabout shaving? Correct me if I'm wrong, But ya... do not shave it. go get it waxed or bleach it.

I have little ones all over my face and my boyfriend always says something aabout them I use to get them threaded but it really really hurts so I stopped but I feel embarrassed so I'm thinking of starting again.

Or get an Epilator. I just got one yesterday and I guess a lot of people use it for little facial hairs. I used it on my armpit hairs and it hurt, but so worth it! My pits are soo smooth and not all dark! It's definitely worth the stinging for the short amount of time.

I use that kit from Olay, the one with the pre-treatment balm and the remover cream, for my upper lip. It gives me great results. I wax my legs and everything else, but I prefer not to wax my lip as my skin is very tender and easily irritated there.

Don't be embarassed!! shaving is the worst thing you can do. I personally use a hair removal cream because mine grows back fast and since I'm so pale it shows a lot. but if youre not a naturally "hairy" person lol, wax it. good luck;)

Sally Hansen has a microwavable wax that's great for your upper lip or other facial areas. No strips need! You'll be hair free for weeks!

Grab an epilator! It doesn't hurt too bad, it just makes me sneeze a lot xD gets rid of all the hair in a minute =]

Wax it, thread it?

I thread and pluck! Can sting during the process but worth it not to be self conscious! I'm half Egyptian, and so I was lucky enough (not!) to inherit the dark facial hair from my dad. Legs are killer too. Ugh!

I would maybe avoid creams if you can. It can be a sensitive area and it IS on your face...so you don't want any reactions! I've had some VERY bad experiences. With threading/plucking, at least there are no hot waxes or chemical creams to potentially mess with your skin! Especially if yours is not that bad, you don't want to make it worse!

Use one of those electric eyebrow shavers you can get at like Target. That's what I use and it gets it all pretty good. DO NOT USE AND ACTUAL RAZOR
Mar 9, 2013
Valerie B.
Don't feel embarrassed! Everyone has hair above their lip, some people just have it a bit darker than others. Your best bet would be to use an electric or regular shaver, some kind of Nair type product, or bleach it. Hope I helped! :)

On second thought, don't use a regular razor! You're better off waxing or taking it off in some other way.

I'm in the same boat. I'm too embarrassed to go to a salon and get it waxed (plus I'd rather not pay 10 bucks for it) so I make a body sugary wax at home and do it myself. It's really quite easy you just need 1 cup of honey 1 cup of sugar and half a cup of lemon juice heat it up in he microwave and use an old cut up shirt to rip it off.

And put a vey light layer of corn starch on your upper lip to help it stick to the hair and not your skin.
