So, I'm relatively new to makeup. to be honest, I got bored of being the only person who uses none or a little bit of makeup in a group of girls who always take care of their looks. now, I know a thing or two, but I really don't know where to start. can you help? which are the essential products that I need to have? (price doesn't matter, as long as the product is good) do you have any other advice? thanks in advance :)

Hi sue,
So the best bran I've ever tried from all the others are No7 and the colour institute. Let me tell you a thing. When you use foundation, get the one from No7 because its super good, the one from the colour institute is crap, never get it. But there's a tip for ya:
Never put so much make-up, be natural, put how much layers of makeup you wants in festivals and parties an put little layers or you will ruin your skin. Good luck my sister! 😃

I couldn't live without my rimmel stay matte powder and collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer. In terms of higher end products and tools, I think it's worth investing in a makeup pallette, like the naked pallette from urban decay, I know there are some cheaper dubes out there but I don't think any of them come close to the quality of you.d, for the amount of shadows you get the price isn't completely unrealistic. I also think it's worth investing in a good blending brush, I have several mac 217's, they can be used for SO much. I don't tend to use foundation often but I have reallllllyyy pale skin and have found that only the revlon colourstay and illamasqua skin base foundation match me. If you're in the uk, you should really check out mua, the makeup is pretty good quality for the price, and if your just getting started its a good opportunity to play around with different colours and see what's suits you before investing in higher quality products in the future.

Hey Sue! I just started wearing makeup a year ago myself but I learned a lot from sephora and makeup artists. less is always more! don't pile makeup on. and also before you apply makeup, learn about your face. learn where you tend to get oily, where your skin is sensitive, and where your cheekbone structure is so you can apply the perfect blush. As for make up products, invest in a good primer. I use Too Faced primed and poreless. I literally use a few dsbs around my face so it'll last long. it's about $34.00. Smashbox has good primers too. I also agree with Alix above me..Naked Palette is a great investment. the colors are amazing. the $50.00 is worth it. I use mine for day and night. as for liquid foundation, ask yourself if you really need it. do you have skin that needs all the cover up? I just use Dior Skin forever compact and its AWESOME. beautiful perfect coverage with the sponge that comes with. favorite product of mine!! its $49.00. and my fave mascara is big fatty by urban decay. it's $19.00. good luck and remember to wash your face every night and give your skin a breather every few days by not wearing makeup :)))))
