Try a matte red. Or a sheer one. Revlon's has a nice matte one "Really Red" and a Lip Butter "Candy Apple"
If you try a drugstore one that's a little cheaper to see if you like it before investing

Yes!! You can totally rock red lips. Go for red with orange undertones first to get yourself comfy with the color. I love Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood. Gorgeous red!!
