@Amanda Not if you have good brushes from my experience I also have a set to apply on clients and have to often clean they have lasted forever.

I only use my foundation brushes twice and then clean them. Eye brushes I use all week and then clean them.

On the eyeshadow brushes, I swish them around on a facial wipe (I like neutrogena) to get the color off and freshen it up between weekly washes.

You don't have to clean them every day but its good to clean them a couple day even week because otherwise left over foundation will stay on the brush and can get all clumpy.. It can also put bacteria on your skin. :)

I clean my face brushes and my Beauty Blender every day, especially if I'm having breakouts to prevent spreading bacteria. You don't have to scrub the hell out of them, just give them a gentle clean.
