When contouring do you use a dark bronzer or a tan one?

Use something dark without shimmer. Shimmer will catch the left and you want to have a shadowing effect for contouring but shimmer is wonderful for highlighting! I believe the rule is to pick something 2 -3 shades darker than your own skin but please, please make sure to blend! :) I hope this helped.

Yes, definitely go with something that's darker than your skin. Search YouTube to help get the initial techniques down.

Go with a mate powders 2 shades darker than your skin color, then do the fishy face where you have the creases in your cheeks take a brush and sweep the powder in the creases and when you do that make sure you blend it into your skin and it should look like you have defined cheek bones and then sweep some on the side of the bridge of your nose then with a highlighting powder high light the middle of your forehead down the center of your nose above your top lip under your nose area and the middle of your chin and under your eyes above your cheek bones I hope I helped

Wayne Goss has some amazing contouring videos on YouTube. You also need to know where to highlight and contour for your face shape...Not everyone needs the same areas contoured. YouTube and Google will be your best friends. Practice and good luck!

Oh another thing, when you contor and highlight its really to give you the appearance of an oval face shape, if you have an oval shape you don't really need to contour, but like ashley said you must go with whatever face shape you have and contour that way if you had a square shape you would contour and highlight differently from a round shape etc. hope this helps and to find your face shape look in a mirror and picture an oval around your face and see what goes out of that oval those areas you would put 2 shades darker and the rest you would lighten but if thats hard find transparent paper and cut an oval out in the middle the size of your face for a visual guide good luck

Also as a general rule for contouring and highlighting never bring it further in than the outer corner of your eye, it closes your face in in a bad way!

I was on YouTube last night and came across an informative yet simple contouring video. It can become more complex but I think this is a great place to start. Check it out...http://youtu.be/4nhaORsSPj4.
