Ok so I am a natural blonde. I dyed my hair a dark brown over a year ago. The first pic is my hair now and its taken a long time for me to get it this colour. I like this colour but I want my blonde back as well. what should I do?

I'd recommend having some highlights put through and adding more gradually so you an keep your current colour but have blonde hair too :)

Also I wear hair extensions. would I need to highlight them as well?

Depends if you have highlights all over, you could just have some done to the top half of your hair if you didn't want to drastically change your hair. If you had a full head of highlights then I would recommend doing your extensions too.

Go strawberry blonde, perhaps?

Thanks guy. I know I shouldn't care. but I can just see my partner taunting me if I was to have strawberry blonde. but its something to think about thank you x

I'd agree with Kathryn I think blonde highlights would be and look the best on you, but you have to remember (I have naturally light blonde hair too) and every time I had mine dark with blonde highlights I forgot how much work it is to put the brown and blonde in it if you want to maintain that look. If not, it will look the most natural to keep gradually adding highlights to your hair without coloring the brown at all. I did it with my hair and got it so heavily highlighted that you couldn't tell where the color stopped.
Although, this is something to just think about but with your complexion and eyes, a red would look amazing on you. A good soft red brown with more red pigments than violet would be awesome, or just keep your color and you can gradually add red lowlights or a red tint (where it's only red shiny in the sun) would be really pretty! But I'm a color person... I love multidimensional hair color and not everyone else does :)

Thanks :) I had never thought about that before. I am not too great with all this. would you be able to post a picture of the red tinted hair please. just want to get an idea of what it would look like. x

The only thing I am worried about is that I have naturally frizzy and dry hair. I would like to go straight back to blonde. but I know if I bleach my whole head it will just cause so much damage abd breakage :(

The only thing is, is that my hair is quite dry and damaged at the ends. I would like yo be able to go straight back to a light/platinum blonde but if inused bleach on my whole head my hair would break off and be very damaged :(

I love the color it's at now. not much people can rock that color.

The best bleach I've ever used is ion's creme lightener infused with argan oil. I've been bleaching my hair for over a year to get rid of the black in my hair and get it to platinum blonde, and this stuff works soooo good. I use it every month and apply a neutral protein filler on damp hair 30 mins before I put the bleach on (and I also use it before I put toner on it, and before I put it on anything...protein fillers are seriously my lifesaver, bleach takes so much out of your hair and this will put protein back in your hair the bleach strips out...plus if you want to avoid damage I would suggest doing protein treatments once a week for a month prior to bleaching, but no more than once a week because if you apply too much protein it can turn your hair to mush.) the bleachs' box will say to use a 20 developer, but depending on the lift you need you can use a 30 or 40 developer with it (I do) but DO NOT use heat with this bleach. And whenever you bleach, make sure you do your research for good products and ALWAYS use a toner, and get a few different shampoo's and conditioner's because purple ones (for maintaining the white-blonde color) can be extremely drying.
I will post a few hair colors that I really like for you, these are just my personal opinion though
This one is my favorite for you! :)

This strawberry red/blonde/brown color is also super pretty too!

I also LOVE this color, because it's natural and not too bright red, but soooo pretty!

And this is last color I really like for you :)

I really like the second and last one :)

Post pictures when you do change your color! I'm excited for you!! And also if you do want to go blonde I would suggest you using ion's creme lightener infused with argan oil, this stuff is the only bleach I've ever used that does not damage my hair- and I bleach my hair once a month basically, and I use a protein filler before my bleach and toner and with that bleach, like I said- literally, no damage!! I can't stress enough how much I LOVE that stuff and don't want anyone else to use the other powder bleach's that are on the market, that is if you do your hair yourself :)

:) thanks. I think I am going to go with the red!! I have never had red hair before. And kinda excited. but I will definitely post pics. Thanks for your help xx

You're welcome! And make sure if you do go with red you use a protein filler on your hair before you dye it (it will gaurentee it comes out even/same color root to tip) and will help lock in the color because red can fade very quickly depending on your hairs porousity. I would suggest that you only wash it maximum of 3 times a week, and get a good red shampoo to help lock in the color, also you can go to ulta and batisse has great colored dry shampoos to help refresh your color/hair in between washings! Also if you're going to do it yourself let me know, becuase I will tell you excactly what to do/get becuase you do not need to bleach your hair to get the results you want (which means no damage!! yay!) I'm excited for you! It's going to be sooo pretty! So just let me know if you are going to do it yourself and I can tell you what all you need to do and what products you should use, if you want that is :)!
