Should I go darker??

Its ombre but if you want a more drastic look I would go darker... if it was me I personally would the top is very ashy compared to the ombre tips.. just have to feather in a darker color so it doesn't look like a line of demarcation making it very visable of the changing colors its have to flow together.

Yes. The darker top would make the ombré stand out more.
