Foundation problems!! HELP!

I recently bought the Covergirl stay fabulous 3-in-1 foundation and I love the formula but I got a color that when it oxidizes, it's way too dark for me. I got a lighter shade and now I'm running out. How can I use the darker one and still look natural??

Maybe mix the colors or mix it with a moisturizer to lighten up the color.
