I don't know what kind of acne I have. If it's from stress, hormonal, or just plain old stupid pores but I need help! My face is broke out And my mom picks my face almost every time I'm with her. She makes me stay up to midnight on a school night for her to pick my face. I'm scared of my mom so I don't really say anything but she just makes it worse and when I wake up my face is red and puffy. I tried almost everything from home remedies to professional help (proactive) I have not been to a dermatologist because my mom says I don't need one. What should I do?? :/ because it really sucks waking up everyday and not putting makeup on and having a red spotted face and people stare at me weird in the halls when they pass me.. Plus I can't take a picture without editing it or feeling self conscious... :P help?? :3.

You may be getting allergic to the chemical filled products! I tried proactive and stuff like that, but all it did was ruin my face! My suggestion is to get a natural cleanser (cetaphil or my favorite, phresh farmacy from lush) and a nice moisturizer! (Cetaphil or simple clean rich moisturizer is what I use). You may have sensitive skin like I do! Some other things that seem unrelated but could be factors are your diet, the amount of water you consume in a day, and the amount of exercise you do in a day!

If I was you, I'd go to a dermatologist, even tho your mom says you don't need one. She/he will be able to give you good products & advice for your skin. Maybe you can talk to your mom about it & also talk with her about the fact that you think the picking makes it only worse.
Just stay calm while talking to her & show respect :)

Cut out processed foods from your diet. You may also have a gluten or dairy allergy. Limit those things in your diet and see how that makes you feel. Drink 8-10 glasses of water of decaf tea a day. This will help flush toxins out of your system that could otherwise show up in the form of pimples on your skin. The skincare regimen I use is the Cerave hydrating cleanser morning and night, cerave am spf 30 moisturizer in the morning after cleansing and the cerave pm moisturizer at night after cleansing. I use the queen helene mint julep masque on my face twice a week and at night as a pimple spot treatment. This stuff works wonders and is super affordable. Avoid products with alcohol, lanolin and mineral oil in them (read the ingredients labels) and don't buy anything that doesn't say non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic on the labels. Wash your pillowcases twice a week, wipe the screen of your phone down with a cotton pad soaked in rubbing alcohol (to get the germs, dirt and oil off that would otherwise be getting onto your face when you pressed your phone to the sides of your face while you talked on it). Try and do yoga. This helps reduce stress and improves the circulation throughout your skin and body. Sometimes poor circulation and bad posture can cause skin problems as well due to the inability of your body to get rid of toxins through the bloodstream. Make sure to gently exfoliate your skin at least once a week either with an oil free gentle face scrub or a complexion brush. My complexion brush is from earth therapeutics and I got this from ulta for around $3. Last but not least be super gentle with your skin both in your regimen and in the handling of it. Try no to pick or scratch pimples or spots. Trust me. It can lead to dark marks and scarring. Good luck and I hope this helps. I know how frustrating it can be but just keep your chin up and remember that you are beautiful no matter what! Stay strong :)

No problem! Another thing I forgot to mention is to make sure to take it easy on the makeup. It's best to let your skin breathe. If you happen to wear eye makeup, make sure to remove it before washing your face. Face washes can't break through eye makeup well, and that eye makeup can melt down your face and clog your pores. And be consistent with your regimen. Give it 1-2 months to work and after that if you don't see a difference, go with a different one. Good luck! :)
