You are beautiful! I am a hairdresser and if your thinking of going lighter why not go so dramatic at first and get highlights and build it up to a colour your comfortable with? Such as mila kunis highlights, which are very popular! If you feel you are getting to light you colour always get lowlights as well. You are stunning though I'm sure whatever colour will look lovely!

I would suggest not to do it seriously! I went blonde slowly for about a year before my hair was your color even a bit darker and it killed my hair, it was a pain in the butt with the roots showing up, it was very very expensive. Plus your hair is beautiful, if your looking for a change just got a bit lighter. Just advice from someone who has been there. I think it would look good though, if you do it, do it slowly not all at once!

I have dark hair as well and I'm blonde now I started building with highlights adding more each time until finally I got her to do an all over color. Don't have to use bleach either. And you can leave your eyebrows. Mine are still brown but I still have a brown underneath so when the roots come in and stuff it still looks good

Ginna, YES! I love it, if you decide to do your hair yourself, like I do - I bleached my hair (since last year it's been quite a process to get my hair platinum blonde from the black dye it was- worst decision of my lifeeee!) but anyways, if you choose to do it yourself, I can help you out with some good blonde products and toners that will work for you, and make sure you load up on protein before you bleach (use the neutral protein fillers once a week and put it in your hair 30 mins before you do the bleach so it will make the bleach process evenly root to tip & leave you with minimal damage) Also I bleach my hair just about every month and I use Ion's creme lightener infused with argan oil (with a 40 developer even tho the box will tell you 20, but make sure you do not use heat with this product) and this bleach will probably need to stay on your hair in 2 45 min sittings depending on how it takes but this bleach doesn't dry like most powder bleach's do on your hair, and is oil based so it's soo moisturizing, I literally don't have any damage in my hair. I also use a protein filler before I tone it too, and I'm telling you- you will have barely any if any damage to your hair- but doing your hair isn't for everyone. I have education in hair, so I'm not scared to do my hair myself and would rather do it than have it messed up by someone else -I had my hair color cut from bleach at a paul mitchell salon- so it CAN happen unfortuantly :(
But I really think it will look gorgeous on you, and if you do it, post pictures I can't wait to see it! I know it's going to be soooo pretty! xo

Thank you @amanda that helps a lot! Thank you for all your product recommendations I will probably start off at the salon but once I get fully blonde ill probably try to do it myself since it will be a lot of upkeep and will get expensive I will definitely post a picture of my process! Thank you for all your great advise (:

Yeah deff understandable, if you lived in florida I would do it for you and save you the cost of going to a salon, and please don't listen to people about your eyebrows, while you're at the salon if you feel you need to lighten them yourself you can have them do that or you can do it yourself with a kit from sallys beauty store but I personally think that your eyebrows will look fine with blonde hair. Also it's not that much upkeep honestly, I do my roots every 6-8 weeks but I could go more if I wanted to because my hair doesn't grow that fast, but I bleach mine allover since I'm trying to completely pull all of the melanin out of my hair so it's a little more work for me, but it will get expensive after a while and it's probably for the best that you go to a salon to get it blonde, esp if you have ever dyed your hair dark (more importantly recently) it might have an effect with the bleaching and not come out as you'd hope. My biggest recommendation though is that you get allover color done, and not foils because with your hair being so dark they're going to do two different processes no matter what but they will probably also try to use a heat dryer on you to accelerate the lightening of the bleach and when your hair is in foils it can get too hott and will start to boil, it's happened to me, and heat is just too damaging with bleach so I would suggest that you not get all over highlights and that would cost you more anyways, what you could do is let them do all over color twice and then foil a few pieces so the color is more multidemensional. Just my opinion though! I'm glad I could help!! I'm really excited to see how it turns out! You can put a protein filler on your hair before you get anything done at a salon too because it will just help with the damage and make sure you do invest in a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner from a good brand, not drugstore but something from the salon will have better ingredients and will help restore your hair sooo much, and to maximize your results make sure you use both the shampoo and conditioner from the same line because they're formulated to go with each other and most people will mix shampoos and conditioners and wonder why they don't see results...so just so you know!! :)
