I took a break from this app many months ago I would say a year or more and it is not how it used to be. I feel like its dead now. The topics to discuss are so limited and now its been narrowed down for makeup issues only. I remember back then we used to talk about personal issues, clothing or other issues and it would be more fun. I will get this post delete it or something but I'm pretty sure someone out there feels the same way about me.

Hi Sandra, welcome back! Yes the "off topic" categories was removed quiet some time ago by now as they often got out of hand, so the Beautylish team decided to remove them to keep the focus on makeup and beauty which was always the point of this app :)

But we still have makeup, skin care, hair, nails and style - So there should be plenty of opportunities to get some great talks going :)

100% agree with this. the app has gone down hill. I very rarely come on here now. I used to be on it everyday.

I feel the same way, people have just gotten plain mean. It's a popularity contest on here when it comes to photos and posts as well. I rarely ever post anymore because I've been put down made fun of or just had some very not nice people interact. I've been using this app since beautylish even started there shop and before such a supportive kind community😔

Girls remember you all have part in getting this app "back to life"! If you don't interact, don't post, don't let us know if people are being rude to you, then yeah the app dies! But if you post interesting subjects and encourage active talks and discussion then this app can get back to its glory days.

I was a regular user of the app as well. The fact is this is a dead forum. It was "over moderated". You can't post photos without tons of additional info, etc... no "Off Topic" category. It's boring and I only checked it this evening cause I'm bored. Beautylish killed the app.

I agree with Kelly. what was wrong with a selfie post or just a quick makeup post. I don't always want to spend 10 mins trying to remember what products I used. I get that this products are pretty much what the site is about but just let people be and enjoy posting instead of policing the living daylights out of it. 100% moderators are in need for inappropriate people commenting mean things and so on. but let other people post what then like. if that's a selfie or a outfit. if you put all the products listed barely anyone comments on the post. so it's pointless.

I would just like to tell you that the rules, also the "details needed" rule on post, all came because they where ask for. For instance, at a point we were overflowing in selfie threads and so many users wrote both us moderators and the Beautilish team asking us to do something. Many didn't feel they got their post seen or questions answered because everything had become selfie threads. And to help out that problem the rule of details needed was made so it wouldn't just be selfies, and we started encouraging people to use the photo section for that.
So you have to understand that rules are not made to annoy you or to kill the app, they are made because they were trying to help.

I get your point, but It was so much better back then! I feel like It could connect people better and help people much more. I get the focus on makeup but why not balance between the two? I used to love answering to questions and explore through the threads.

So glad to see that everyone feels the way I do. I wish this would become as popular as it was before... Maybe we all need to stay on and get others on!
