Hi! I have a question.
I'm goin to Hawaii on the 23rd of January, and I have very, very, very bad skin. I do not feel comfortable even walking around the house with no foundation. I need to know if here is a way I can go into beaches and swim without showing my horridly scarred, acne-filled face.
Please help!!

Maybe do a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen in it!

Try using a good BB cream! They give you coverage and also protect against the sun.

I grew up in Hawaii. If your just tanning on the beach it's not prob, where your face will stay in tact. You can also take a dip in the ocean and not submerge your head (only possible in swallow easy going beaches w/out rough waves. But the moment you dip under the water your makeup will melt away. If not all at once, gradually with the mixture is salt and sun.

The only thing you can really do is wear makeup and don't swim. Say you have your period or something. :P

I have the same problem and when I went to the beach I just applied a light layer of my usual foundation because it has SPF in and a little concealer. There are also tinted moisturisers available that have high factor sun protection, so they are basically like a sun block. I know of one that has quite a full coverage but I can't remember the brand right now!

You might have to do a bit of searching - but I bet you there are tinted, waterproof, sweatproof sunscreens out there. I used to have extremely bad cystic acne in college. It never stopped me from going to the beach with my friends and having a good time :) Have a great trip to Hawaii (I'm green with envy ;)

The sun will help your acne. Don't feel insecure about. You will never see these people again anyway. It might be good for your pores to breathe so I think this is a good opportunity for NO foundation.

I say just go without makeup :) Nobody will be looking at your imperfections- you're going so you can relax, right?? Just don't worry about it!! Get a really cute huge floppy hat and that should block your face if you're still worried. You can also look into a waterproof foundation, I know they exist!! I don't know of any but if you go to a Sephora or Ulta and ask them they'll probably be able to help you out. Just have fun!!! You're super lucky to go on such a fabulous vacation :) I am really jealous- never been to Hawaii haha I hope your trip is amazing!!!!!

I researched it , and a lot of people say derma blend is really good. So you can look more into that. Hopefully this helped , and have a great Vacation !
P.S. the sand under the water is a great scrub!

I had the same problem. And what's really bad is its an ugly circle. Your face breaks out because of oil and makeup/dirt clogging up your pores so you cover it, causing more breakouts and you don't want to go bare because you feel terrible about your skin. It took me a month to get mine under control.
1. Never sleep in your makeup. It's awful.
2. Always moisturize. My face seemed like it was really oily and I thought 'well I don't need to moisturize' but in reality it was my skin over producing oil because my face was very dry and the over production made my face break out even more.
3. I agree with Hayley, the sun heals your skin because it has a lot of vitamins. Just make sure you wear a non greasy sunscreen. Estée Lauder makes a good one.
4. I used dream blend and it does cover everything completely but it feels awful because it is so heavy I was completely miserable wearing it and it just felt like it was clogging my skin.
5. I know it feels like your skin will be like this your whole life and it's hopeless but it won't. I just got mine under control lately and it really has a lot to do with letting your skin breathe and babying it and I just stopped caring if people stared or what they thought. I just reminded myself that it was for the betterment of my skin.
Ok I'm done...sorry for the long rambly post 😋

I suggest throw some concealer on where you want it and then go have fun and don't even worry about it coming off or anything =] you'll go out confident and don't worry about it til your back in the hotel room. Have fun!

try useing a tinted moisterizer with sunscreen in it that is waterproof that way it wont come off and you can still hide your acne without clogging your pores.

Thanks guys!! I think if I'm hangin out on the beach with the fam I'll go bare or light tinted sunscreen. If I'm going out maybe ill use waterproof foundation.
Thank you sooo much<3

Please. Please. Please. What ever you do. Don't wear make up in the sun. Especially if you have problematic skin. The sun is so good for healing and will do wonders for your skin. Wear an SPF and be confident on holiday. Deal with the make up and skin care routine thoroughly when you get home.

Agree with Sarah L. You're in freakin' Hawaii!! Enjoy it...trust me, we magnify our imperfections 176% more than the rest if the world. Trust me, in Hawaii, no one is looking at your supposed imperfections, they are either watching the sun set, exploring the rainforest, or worrying about who is judging their muffin top and pasty, prickly, dimpled thighs...slather in SPF, wear a giant, glam hat and huge sunglasses. Jealous...
