Not sure what to do.. I haven't had my hair professionally cut in years. It's split and damaged but I'm not sure what to do, as silly as it sounds. Just would like another opinion really.

I personally do little by little. But that's just because I don't like myself with short hair lol.

If you don't mind, doing it all at once would be a good option 🙂

Thank you!! Yeah I don't think it would suit me if I'm honest, just starting to get embarrassed by hair now

I totally get you! My hair was practically burned off by a stylist once and was soooooo short. I stopped using heat and cut little by little and it's grown healthy 🙂

Wow that must have been horrible! Especially by a stylist, but glad it's better now. ☺

Sorry I didn't mean to make it about me! Just wanted to let you know it'll be fine if you do it little by little ✨

When my hair was damaged from heat styling too much I'd get about 1/2 inch trimmed off every 2 months or so.

Blondbarbe B your hair doesn't look too bad and it is long so I would cut the damage bits off. Mine is short & I had to have 2" cut off all over but it was damaged from exposure to radiotherapy rays (apparently not a normal occurrence). After the haircut I religiously used Pro naturals hair repair system following their suggested regime and all back to normal and healthy inside approx 4 months. I still use it today but only around once a month but I make sure I use the hair mask once a week and I use the argan oil leave in treatment applied to my damp hair every time I wash my hair before blow drying and heat styling because it is a great heat protectant.

Well as I see from the photo, I can't say that your is such in a bad state... Maybe you should consult with a good hairdresser for the better solutions?
Also if I were you, I would cut the ends and try to use different procedures/special products for restoring my hair :) I made this several times after extreme bleachings and hair dyeings xDD I can say that such tips http://machohairstyles.com/best-tips-on-coping-bad-hairline/ are usually really helpful :) The good quality, especially the natural beauty products are a must in this case, also taking some special vitamins and regular using natural oils for the masks and massages :) In my case these things helped me greatly!
But of course sometimes hair can be in a such bad condition, that a short haircut can be the only solution but as I said above it's not your case :)
