Hello Beautifuls!
This coming August I will be getting married!! I've been working like crazy, and working out as well, then I realize I'm neglecting my skin routine! I'm of course on a budget and can't spend too much on skin care products, but I would like products that work well. I'm looking for a good daytime and night time routine, and need help picking drugstore products to do the job. I hope I'm giving enough info, my skin type is combo with mostly oily, and I'm looking to clarify my skin and refresh it as well! Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

About how much per routine (day and night) or per product are you looking to spend?

Do you suffer from any acne or major discoloration that needs to be addressed?

How sensitive would you say your skin is?

Congratulations, by the way! This is a huge occasion and I can see why you want to look your best. :)

I guess I'd say maybe no more than $50 for the routines, I don't have acne per say but my pores are rather large and they are clogged which looks like blackheads, and my skin isn't very sensitive at all, I've never had a problem with any products before. And thank you! :)

I'm going to make some general recommendations based on what you've told me without overloading your routine. Most of these products can be used interchangeably between day and night, so I think this is close to if not under your budget.

My favorite cleanser for normal to oily skin is the Olay Gentle Clean Foaming Face Wash. You can buy it in bulk on Amazon or Jet.com. Great lather, but doesn't feel drying. You will still want to remove makeup prior to washing with your preferred method. Ranges between 5-8$ depending on where you get it/what deals are currently active.

Nuskin NaPCA moisture mist is an excellent, inexpensive spray-on toner for light hydration and balancing after cleansing. You can spray it into a cotton pad if you want, and the bottle is a whopping 8 oz for under 14$, which is leagues better than a lot of drugstore options. Buy it on Amazon. Protip: also works great sprayed on hair prior to leave in conditioner.

For pores and overall skin radiance I enjoy the BHA:salicylic acid products from Paula's Choice. My reigning favorite right now is actually her Clear Body Spray. Its only marketed for the body because of the packaging, but I find it works very well for my face and there's nothing in the ingredient list that makes it bad for that. It's about 24$, but they often run promotions that I always wait for. Paula also has a few other BHA formulas, so you can pick the one that sounds ideal. Adding a chemical exfoliant is one of the best things you can do to change up your skincare routine. Start with no more than once every other night, then work your way up if your skin seems fine after a week or two. These products are meant to be left on to work their magic.

For the fastest radiance boosting I would look into a vitamin c product. The best ones for the price that I've found are on Amazon. I currently have one by Complete Skin Solutions that runs about 27.99, but Timeless sells one for about 15$. A lot of people will tell you to only use Vitamin C during the day because it boosts the protection of your sunscreen, but if you are sensitive to the smell of ascorbic acid (purest form of vitamin c), like I am, it will still do everything else it does naturally if you apply it at night. Mix a few drops into your moisturizer rather than applying directly, as it can be sensitizing in high concentrations. Only apply directly as a spot treatment for post acne redness or dark spots. Start with once every other day/night as you prefer. If using during the day, mix it with a small amount of non spf moisturizer before applying SPF.

A solid moisturizer from the drugstore is the CeraVe PM Face Lotion. It seems a little more pricey than other drugstore options, but you get more product. It's hydrating without being heavy, and contains a bevy of fantastic ingredients that work to hydrate and help even skin tone. Online retailers almost always have better pricing.

For daytime, CeraVe also makes a great SPF 30 product. You can get marginally less expensive options from Aveeno/Neutrogena, but they have more basic formulas that don't treat your skin to all the good stuff you want to be giving it. Again, find it online if possible; the money you can save is worth it.

If you have specific questions about products that you think I can answer for you, please comment on my profile; I check back every few days.
