I have had this scarring in one of my toenail since a year and it won't go away. I got it tested for fungus but it came negative. Any idea what it is and what can be done?

I would try biotin and see if it will just grow out.

Definitely don't take supliments without doctors advice, it looks like a bruise under the nail. keep it short and see if the 'bruise' grows out. if not it could be fungal.

I agree with Laura. Maybe even do some hot/cold soaks and keep it moisturized. Mine was purple from running for at least 6 months.
