Henna Residu! Help!

So I dyed my hair with the lush henna today. There's a waxy residue left on my hair and it won't go away. I washed it again and it still feels the same. I like the natural aspect of henna, but I don't want to deal with the greasy hair! I have a lot of the block of dye left so I don't want to waste it. What should I do?
