Okay so I used to have pretty bad acne, and then I went on birth control. It cleared up my skin for almost a year. I am still on the pill, but over the last few weeks, I've been breaking out again. How do I make this stop? Please please help me. Having acne causes me a lot of physical and emotional pain. I need to get rid of it.

What's your skincare routine and what products are you using? What's your skin type?

Hey :) I know what you're going through. What kind of skin care products do you use?

Also, have you seen a dermatologist? I was on the same boat until I was prescribed Retin A Micro and Clindamycin Phosphate. It seriously changed my life. I still get breakouts from time to time, but nowhere near as bad! You might get prescribed something totally different than me, so that's why it's important to get a consultation. Also, once you do get your medication make sure to keep up with it! Your skin may start to look a little worse or get very dry. You just have to push through, and your skin will regulate. It took me a while to learn that lesson.

For the time being, I have found that putting honey on my face is very soothing and smoothing. Also, make sure you're using a non-comedogenic moisturizer. That means it won't cause breakouts and clogged pores. It's very important for your skin to be hydrated in order to be clear. If you're suffering from a swollen painful zit, take some Advil. It actual helps a great deal with the pain and sometimes even the swelling.

For the emotional pain, it almost seems like the worst aspect doesn't it! Just know that nobody is looking at your acne, and nobody cares! Pretty much everyone gets it. I'm at university now, and I notice a lot of people don't wear makeup. Not everyone has clear skin, and nobody seems to care at all. It's really a beautiful thing. Also, acne is temporary. You won't have it for the rest of your life. It's just one of those hurdles that life is throwing you right now. Even breakouts suck a lot, all of us acne-suffered deserve to be happy. I find that working out, seeing movies, and going shopping lifts my spirits and makes me generally more happy (and forget about my breakouts!). Just do things that give you happiness so you can forget about those pesky spots.

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with everything! Hope you have a lovely day. (Btw the lipstick you're wearing in your profile pic is gorgeous!!)

Products containing Salicylic Acid help to fight and prevent breakouts. InstaNatural has an Acne Cleanser with Salicylic Acid. Unlike lots of products on the market the Acne Cleanser also contains a moisturizing element, Vitamin E, to nourish and prevent dryness. Use day and night for best results.
