Everybody talks about the Tarte Shapetape.
I also have extremely dark under eyes and the Maybeline Fit Me works good for me

Is it just because I'm not using enough of it?

I suggest color correcting before applying your concealer. Your darkness may just be too dark for a concealer to cover by itself.

I agree with a color corrector - it will completely correct the discoloration and you may not need any or much concealer over it - I like the Bobbi brown color corrector for under my eyes - but I also think skin care also helps a lot too to the point you don't need makeup - first off dark circles are caused by lack of sleep so the true cure is to get more sleep (unless they are hereditary) but if you can't change that then I also suggest you invest in a good eye cream - I like the all about eyes cream by Clinique it tackles dark circles, puffiness and fine lines with one cream so it's pretty great - anyways hope this helps!

I have super dark under eye circles (don't know why). I've tried a million and one things. Two concealers that have worked for me so far are 1- Lancôme concealer and 2-NARS. I've tried everything else. I've also tried all kinds of lotions and serums and all and nothing has worked for me.

Totally understand you. I also had that problem- I have a really kind of gray darkness under my eyes, when I put on the concealer it looked really bad.
Now I'm using an orange corrector (MAC prep+prime pitch), and then I put the concealer (the MAC pro longwear, but you can use whatever you like). And it's amazing!! The dark under my eyes is gone and it looks fantastic. So use the right corrector for your kind of darkness, I'm sure you'll love it.
btw- make sure you use a concealer with a good coverage after the corrector. Then, if you want to highligh the undereye area you can use some light concealer (I use the bright forecast prep+prime by MAC, the color is great for all skin tones).
