I went to Ulta and they had an Urban Decay Event and one of the gals sat me down and matched me applied various products. She applied the b6 toner spray, the tightening primer and the UD all nighter foundation. She said something along the lines of using a water based foundation and primer for oily skin. I thought oil and water could not combine and create the makeup to smear.
My question is what do you guys feel about water based makeup and the UD all nighter foundation.

There is nothing wrong with using a water based primer and water based foundation.
I believe the all nighter foundation is actually silicone based BUT there shouldn't be an issue. it's only an issue if you use an oil or silicone based base and then try putting a water based foundation over since the oil or silicone may repel the water and not allow it to dry down.
if the base is water based and the foundation is oil or silicone based then you're fine since the water based primer or base will absorb and won't cause a film like oil or silicone.
one of my favorite primers is water-based and my favorite foundations are silicone based.
I've used a few water based foundations and they work pretty good although I think they work better for normal to combination skin, the ones I've used anyway
