Have you tried washing your hair with cheap lathering shampoo, soaking it in dish washer liquid for a half hour, or getting it light enough to use a toner?

Clarifying shampoo. use it until your hair is really faded. then If you're planing on dying it a natural color, use one with a gold base to counteract the purple. If you're gonna bleach. Which I dont recommend, do it only once and treat your hair with some hydrating masks =D Good luck

Fairy liquid or anti dandruff shampoo helps strip colour a bit. Or before u try bleaching it u could get a colour remover?

I agree with Jodie, try a colour remover first. Then conditioning treatments and pop a brown semi perm colour on.

What actual color is it. You can lighten your hair without decolorizing it. Strip the color by a clarifying shampoo or home remedies pert or dawn. Then you can cap it with peroxide and shampoo that will lighten it a few levels depending on the level. There is also Rusk eliminate which you can get at a cosmo store, that is a gentle process with no bleach but it will decolonize.

But you will have to tone with violet you can also get away with putting another color over depending the level and tone of color. Example if you are naturally a level 7n and you violet is a 5v you could do an all over color of 5-7w that should tone the violet. If you have a red violet decolorizing could end with pink bits.

What you have in your hair is different from a true dye. It will fade fairly quickly but never truly be gone. Even bleach will have a hard time getting it all out without damaging your hair.
