I love that makeup brands are being inclusive of everyone but I feel like they need to do someone who isn't a youtuber. I think every brand is looking for male youtubers now to try and get on the same level as the rest of the brands. I think they're going to just try to one up each other soon.
I don't know who this one is but I hope he's actually going to school for it and not giving tons of bad advice like a lot of current beauty "guru" youtubers are

I have no clue who this guy is but good for him.

Alyx... I totally feel you but from what I know/remember, brand ambassadors have never/rarely been makeup artists, they are often famous celebrities (ellen, zendaya, kerri washington, etc.) and it seems that know, they are buying into the new "internet famous" market... does it matter that much considering the past ambassadors for rimmel have never been actual artists (kate moss for example)? I'm NOT at all taking away from you opinion... I agree with it, but I also ask myself these questions because now we can watch tutorials and makeup application instead of just 15 second commercials.

Lara I understand that. But they are advertising lately that they're makeup artists. None of the celebrities ever did that. If they just got youtubers who weren't makeup "gurus" than it'd be fine. But they seem to just be picking the ones with the right amount of followers who call themselves gurus and not caring if they're giving valid advice. But it's rare of them to actually be certified or even taken a class in any sort of esthetics. I just watch videos from the big sponsored people and it's in general bad advice. And so they get super popular and become brand ambassadors like this and it just spirals lol. So I think personally brands need to stick with just celebrities who go "I love using this___ foundation when I do my own makeup on my days off" instead. Or going with "this is a super great makeup artist let's get them known". Or even combining them but in a proper way.

I don't really know if any of that made sense. But I don't think it's fair to properly trained makeup artists the way they do this now

Oh I get what you mean now... the misinformation of refering to the gurus as makeup artists... I agree with your opinion on that. its just a sponsorship where money is the main interest. I think because of the change in platforms (youtube, internet, instagram, etc.) they can no longer get away with that... but thats what they're doing. they're picking the person with just the right amount of followers but aren't so interested in the information put out by theae so-called makeup artists.

They're using the same kind of "deal" as eith celebrities but it's not the same anymore.
