Correction to myself: UD is also owned by lo'real but UD doesn't do animal testing - I guess I was mixing them up with MAC

Just look for the bunny symbol on the products - if they are vegan or cruelty free on BL then they will probably advertise that - or you can look up the company on the leaping bunny website - they usually are good about letting you know if a company may be owned by a parent company that does test on animals (like burts bees is owned by lo'real which does animal testing) and others you may need to just search on the company website - like urban decay actually sells to china - and the require animal testing so that means that the company does do some animal testing for products they sell to china - and that goes for any company that sells in china - so it's something to be aware of when looking for cruelty free brands - but the list Lisa sent is pretty good for the most part - but not all those brands are on BL
