I just use a bar of soap, but keep in mind my mom buys natural, Castile soap bars ( she also buys this other coconut one, that I'm pretty sure is a coconut oil soap, but I'm not 100% Sure) and use it as a solid cleanser with warm water 😜

My go to now is Parian Spirt on my brushes, it's near instant, cost effective and my brush bristles are white and silky, like new. In the past, however, I have used my own shampoo, which works well, but takes forever, Cinema Secrets, which is effective, a bit pricey, and smells god awful, solvent mixed with artificial vanilla, I don't recommend, and Dawn soap in a pinch if the brushes were really filthy, because I figured if it was gentle enough to wash little ducks after an oil spill, my brushes would be fine. I actually like it if I've used a cream foundation on my foundation brush, it really gets it nice and clean. I've invested a ton of money in brushes, and I can say with confidence that all of these methods won't hurt your brushes!

I love Parisian Spirit for quick cleaning- my brushes dry almost instantly. For my weekly deep clean, I use Clean Apothecary brush cleaner. They have several scents and it's gentle enough to use on natural hair brushes and still bets them squeaky clean.

I just use Johnsons baby shampoo in the yellow bottle with water :)
