Hey my beauties,
So I'm sort of getting over the matte lipstick trend. I mean I still love my matte liquid lips and all but lately I've been wanting a nice, smooth non drying lippie that's easier to touch up. Do you all have any recommendations?
The only finish I don't really like would be something really sheer or sparkly. I guess satin or creme would be what I'm looking for.:)

I like the Charlotte Tilbury cream formulas- the KISSING lipsticks. I love the NARS Audacious cream lipsticks. They are super pigmented and have a super creamy consistency. My favorite is Brigette and it's a lovely satin cream peach.

Okay so I am a lipstick hoarder lol.
For liquid I love the tarte liquid lipsticks. They have matte and some glossy finishes. I have a couple and they feel amazing on the lips, they're super moisturizing.

Sephora also has oil infusion lip stains I believe they are called. They aren't super pigmented but I love the feeling on my lip, I only have two and they're neutral shades so I can't speak about the colorful ones but I love it on my lips alone or on top of a drying lipstick to give my lips some appearance of moisture. It's basically a glossy chapstick lol.

Nyx also has the lip cremes and they're quite nice. I only have one but it's very pigmented and not drying from what I remember. It's not a color I liked on me so I don't wear it, but it's a nice formula

For actual lipstick bullets I love the mufe range of lipsticks. It's what made me first get into lipsticks and not hate it. They have matte to glossy to everything in between.

Kat von d also has beautiful lipsticks. I know some of them can be quite hit or miss but I have the sets she's put out at Christmas the past couple years, and there's only one dud imo, and it's just because it's got chunkier glitter in it and so it takes more effort to make it even. But not all of them are matte and they aren't too drying but last nice, I usually only have to touch up the very inner portion if I do at all.

Bite beauty also has lovely lip products, but I only have matte ones from them so I'm not sure if they do other finishes. The ones I have aren't super matte, but they definitely aren't glossy.

Mac is always a good selection. I have three lipsticks from there and I personally don't like the mattes as much as I do their satins and more glossy finishes. Rebel was the first lipstick I ever bought and the only lipstick bullet I ever completely used up in high school and had to rebuy lol. They are very hit and miss from what I read about them, but anything non matte I've never seen any issues.

And lastly I really like the Kate Moss line. I think it's from rimmel (maybe wet n wild?), I had to throw my one I had out because it got dropped lol. But it was pigmented and creamy and not drying. I did have to touch it up a lot, but it was red and it was easy to touch up, no issues with layering

Thanks Jenni! I've always wanted to try the CT lipsticks so I'll definitely look into them again:) and I do have some of the audacious lippies. They are amazing!

Alyx, thank you! I'll definitely try out your suggestions:) I do have a few Mac lippies and a Bite Beauty one (which I loved so probably should check those out again anyway). I feel like I used to have one of those Kate Moss lipsticks but lost it? I'll pick another up and try it out :)

I'd definitely go with MACs Satin or Amplified formulas.
Those two are a couple of my faves. Both formulas have great pigmentation.
Amplified is a little more creamy but not too creamy or glossy.
Satin is close to Matte but with a slight shine, but very comfortable wear.

Within the amplified range I love the Saint Germain, Morange, Reel Sexy and Impassioned.

With their Satin I really like the Honey Love, Cherish, Pink Nouveau, Sushi Kiss, Peachstock, MAC Red.

But honestly, my personal opinion; MAC used to only have one retro matte lipstick (Ruby Woo) which is super dry and tugs on your lips. Then they started making more lipsticks within both, the retro-matte and matte formulas.

I feel like the newer retro-matte lipsticks are nowhere near as dry as like Ruby Woo. if anything they feel like the Matte formula and the newer shades in the Matte formula (like Candy Yum Yum, Heroine etc) feel more like/look like the satin formula ones. Newer satin formulas feel the same as the older shades.
Overall, some matte formulas feel the same as a satin IMO, just depends on whether it's an older or newer shade

Hands down Bite Beauty amuse Bouche lipsticks and NARS audacious lipsticks are the best. They're both super pigmented and they last on the lips! They're pretty pricey but worth every penny. My favorite shades in NARS are Anna and Raquel. And my favorite shades in Bite Beauty is Fig and Pepper.

I love bite beauty's lipsticks and also ILIA's lipsticks, they are both more natural ingredient brands but they are amazing and I love them as much as any other formulation
