I recently just purchase the Laura Mercier silk cream foundation and it covers beautifully but it's making my skin super shiny which Does not look good on my skin considering its already so oily. What are some good foundations that will leave me with more of a matte finish?

Maybailline Matte moose foundation. Or Mac prolong wear! Also try using witch hazel after your cleanser to help with oil! And use blotting tissues after moisturizer, I came to find out that's why my face has been extra oily

I do use witch hazel as well as blotting sheets and I find that it helps a great amount! I would really be lost without those two things. I haven't tried that foundation ill have to look :) thanks Melissa F.

Mouse foundations are normally Matte as they have a powder in them. I'm loving Starlooks mouse foundation it's like mac studio fluid but in a mouse and keeps you matte!

You should try the Matt nars foundation really light on the skin and the oil free primer. I have a combination skin mainly oily, after I use a foundation I apply a loose powder with a brush this sets the make up and give your skin a Matt finish at it gets rid of the shines.

Hey Andrea, yup it is thick and creamy but a tiny bit goes a very loooong way. Half a pump really. Because of its texture, I would highly suggest using a dense buffing brush (ie. MAC #130) and apply in sections @ a time. The key also is ur skin must be moisturized and primed before. It seems like a lot of work but the finish and the wear is phenomenal!!! It really is my HG foundation. Maybe try a sample from Sephora. I did and ran to get the bottle. lol.

I will have to get a sample and use it for a day or so because that's the way to really find out if I like it and ill make sure to use a buffing brush :) thank you so much :)

Clinique stay matte is really good , my fav for my extreme oily skin is Chanel's matte lumier but its expensive, and lastly for a little cheaper alternative neutrogena shine control makeup (only thing is the color ranges are not that good)

Have you heard of Urban Decay's Naked Skin? I have oily skin and this keeps me matte all day and has a solid medium coverage. Build able and looks truly naked on your skin. I highly recommend, it's my favorite foundation ever
