Any tips on how to get the accurate color when in sephora? Their lighting has fooled me too many times. As soon as I get into natural light I'm like what the hell?? But in the store the colors always blend!

Sephora has a good return policy, at least in Canada anyways. So if it doesn't match your skin, then return it. You will have a general idea of what shade you should be when you go back :)

I knowww I love their return policy but its getting so frustrating! Lol any recommendations on my skin tone and what shades would look best on me by looking at my pic? Dark brown hair, green eyes, burn once in the sun but then get darker and darker all summer. One person at sephora said I have yellow undertones but pink surface tones? Just looking for more input :)

Ahhhh, you sound like me as far as coloring is concerned. I generally look for foundations that are "warmer" because they have a yellow undertone to them and they actually neutralize the pink surface tones which I am not a fan of anyway.

Are you testing on your neck? Try going in natural light, then go back to the store :) never test on your arm, you want foundation to match your neck so always test it there! :)

Have them match you and ask to see it in natural light. They have hand mirrors and will walk with you. Also, try a sample or have them put it on and leave the store for a bit. Walk around other stores and check your self out in their lighting. Then go back to sephora

I suggest matching right above your jawline & stepping by a window where you can see it in natural lighting.
"Yellow undertones by pink surface tones" WHAT?!? I don't even know what that means!

I've heard "undertones and surface tones" blah blah a few times on beautylish and it boggles my mind Andrea
I even tried googling it but I couldn't find much
Can anyone explain this to me

I always end up returning foudations/concealers when I try to match myself. Ask an associate for help, especially on my case I am color blind (plus the store's lighting can be very deceiving.)

Tiffany, I think it's best that we don't even try to figure out what it means bc it's just going to complicate EVERYTHING. haha
