Am considering a fringe - any tips on styling etc?

I'm thinking of getting a fringe when I get my hair cut in February, but am scared of having to style it etc. I've naturally dead straight hair and it requires very little styling so I'm afraid I won't be able to maintain my fringe - any tips on products or styling? :)
