I use a spray of ultas self tanner, but I'm pretty sure I'm about to change out. A few questions I have: what's a good self tanner? How many days should you tan? Can you use body wash and lotion? How long do you wait before getting in water?

I've tried so many tanners and I must say xen tan is amazing! It's lasts for a week and it's an olive undertone! Moisturize everytime you get out the shower to make it last longer. After applying the tan leave it for 6 hours then shower :)

look for the main ingredient dehydroxyacetone. aka DHA. this is the main ingredient used in nearly every self tanning lotion or spray. have tried a ton and honestly one of my favorite streak free tanning products out there is calked Malibu hemp bronzing lotion. its gradual but works great. exfoliate real well before application then just apply everyday to keep a pretty sunkissed tan. Make sure you wash your fingers well after application.

Regarding your question about using body lotion. Body lotion in general is a necessity to keep your skin hydrated and extend the life of your tan. The DHA in the self-tanner tends to be a bit drying. Be sure your lotion does NOT contain mineral oil. Mineral oil will break down the tan faster
