So I have this Citre Shine hair serum that I rarely use, and I was thinking if I could use it as a hair mask rather than after styling. I want to apply a bunch so it gets kinda oily, leave it for a couple hours and wash my hair. Has anyone done this before? Is it a waste of product or could it actually help in something for my hair? Thanks in advance.

Serums mostly work as leave on conditioners for me
I got coarse dry hair for which I use argan oil serum after wash
I do hair mask twice a week depending upon time... but I do oil my hair overnight next day I wash it...
I think you should use some oils or hair mask instead of using serum before wash...
oils work best for hair..
That's what I suggest

But make sure if you use this trick... shampoo your hair when the conditioner is still on hair..

Thanks for the info Glem! I did read a bit about that but I believe it adds volume too, which is actually what I'm trying to reduce. I was thinking of putting conditioner now mixed with a bit of serum, and wash it in an hour. I'll use conditioner again then because I can't untangle my hair without it.

So actually you got heavy hair right...
same here
tough to manage...
use oil or serum to manage them before wash..
and apply that same serum to your wet hair after the wash...
And a soft cotton tshirt instead of towel for drying your hair instead if towel if you use..
it manages hair more
