Is there a way to make matte eyeshadows appear more glossy/creamy/buttery/satiny?

Try wetting your brush.

No that just increases the intensity of the pigment, doesn't gives it a buttery sheen.

You could pat a little clear gloss on top but that wouldn't last all day.

Although the I hate Vaseline, what if you try mixing that with some of your shadow? Although I don't know the "rules" for using Vaseline so close to your eye?

It Cosmetics palettes, I believe are all mattes, but they include a "TRANSFORMING" shade they include in their palettes. Its supposed to be able to turn any of the matte shades into a satin/shimmer shade. I don't own any of those palettes, but I've seen it advertised. They should sell that TRANSFORMING shade by itself.

I have Lucas Paw Paw ointment for doing a glossy eye, however it's mostly for photo shoots because it doesn't really stay glossy with that thick material without creasing soon. I imagine Vaseline might have the same effect, I'm not sure. Orlando Santiago is the artist at my last academy who taught us to use the Lucas ointment. I never asked if there was a difference with Vaseline. If anyone knows it's Jaqueline!!

Vaseline works and you can buy eye gloss or eye gloss shadows. Are you wanting the gleam look?  :)

Or maybe you can use a transparent creamy base and apply your matte shadow on top?

Keep applying a gloss over top all day. Or just wear a tinted lip gloss?

Jacqueline where do you live?? I want to be your neighbor and learn everything you know. Sounds like I need to start using google a little more. Matter of fact, (this is getting slightly off topic) I was thinking about what you said about how you question everything, you want to know the why and the how... I went to college for neuropsychopharmacology and that's how I was with that. I had to drop out when I had my son, didn't get to go back. But I was so fascinated by it, I wanted to understand the why and the how of everything. I feel like I missed my calling. Kinda sad, but being an artist is great. I'll just keep learning from you!  :)

Oh I was there for a few months a couple years ago. I learned that in Vegas everyone says that everything is 20 minutes away, regardless of the actual geographical location. ;-)
