So I live in Minnesota. And I just heard that glycerin can be bad if there is no humidity in the air and it can just make your skin more dry deep down and I've done so much research and ever lotion I see has glycerin!! I wanted to know if this was true and if so is there a lotion that I can use on my face before makeup and after I take my makeup off. Thank you!

I've heard of Glycerin being bad for hair in the winter, which is false, but never skin. so I can't really help. I'm just commenting to follow and get more info.

Not necessarily. Glycerin works by either pulling water from the environment so it can be on the surface of your skin OR it will draw water from under the skin and bring it to the surface of the skin to keep it moisturized.
It's only "Bad" if it's winter and you're using glycerin for your hair which doesn't have water on the inside to bring to the surface.
If your skin is damp before putting on a glycerin based moisturizer than that will help too.
Glycerin brings moisture to the surface of the skin and emollients like oils work by creating a layer over your skin so that the water doesn't evaporate and stays on your skin keeping it moisturized.

To my knowledge I believe glycerin brings moisture to the surface and also helpa things stick to your skin. I agree with trying a facial oil. I really enjoy Josie Maran argan oil or jojoba oil. both will not clog pores and will help to even out moisture levels on your skin.

I would highly recommend the Alba Even Advanced night cream. It is very moisturizing but dries matte so it is wonderful under makeup and before bed! It even made my oily skin less oily:)
