Like the hyperpigmentation left by acne. Right now, my routine for foundation consists of:
Cover fx mattifying anti-acne primer
Makeup forever's full cover concealer
Makeup forever's mat velvet+
Tarte's finishing powder, if that's relevant
And you can still see my weird, pinky-purple dots. Faded, of course, but still un-attractive. I have skin that in some places borderline on white, so that could be why they show up so dark. I buy the lightest shade in professional foundations (can't even consider drugstore foundation, I turn bright orange) and it still isn't as white as my neck. Sigh. Anyway, I can't seem to find anything to cover them up! Any ideas?

If you really want to cover up any acne I think you would be better off with Kat Von D's tattoo concelar. My mom wears it to cover a birth mark that looks as if she got punched (it's not that dark though but that's what people think).
She puts on her regular foundation, applies a little bit of concealer on that area and really blends it, and she finishes with putting on powder. Try it I think it should work on acne as well(:
