How long should I wait?

I'm getting my hair dyed, but I'm not sure when to get it done. I could get it done now, or I could wait a week or two. However if I get it dyed now, my roots might grow back and I'd rather have fresh hair for school. Do you think it's smarter to wait then, or will the roots even be that significant? Thanks in advance!(:
