Hey everyone so I'm going to get my photo taken for my license and I was wondering if there were some tips on how to do my makeup. like I've bee debating between a matte red lip or a nude one, winged eyeliner or natural eyes, and if I should do my usual heavy highlighter look. also, if you guys could give me some simple tips (such as contouring and brows) for this that would be great! thanks so much.

Everyone has their own opinion of what looks good. But when I get my picture taken, I go heavy on the makeup. Well, not too heavy, just more than I would normally wear. I pay special attention to powdering my t zone (flash will accentuate shininess, slightly over lining my lips (if you smile, your lips will will visually thin out), a bright blush (flash can wash you out) and lots of mascara to open up your eyes. And a little bronzer (I wear the normal amount I usually wear. I do brows as normal and I'm not crazy about heavy contouring for a license. I guess it just looks too contrived for my taste. Even though I wear more makeup for a license picture, I still don't want to look like I tried too hard. I just want to look happy and healthy looking and not washed out. Again, this is just my taste, everyone is different.

I agree with Marleen the camera can definitely wash you out so I use a little extra then I normally would with blush bronzer so I don't look flat. I also use more mascara because I like my eyes to look bigger they get smaller when I smile. And I always whiten my teeth with crest white strips lol. I never contour so I can't say anything about that.

If you're using a product that doesn't give flashback then you should be good.
I wouldn't recommend using an under eye concealer that's quite light cause with flash (depending on the formula) it can end up looking even lighter but I can depend on what cream or liquid you used under or even the powder but overall I just skip it for photos cause that's what will just end up washing you out more.

I prefer to contour because if there's a chance it'll wash you out then the flash may wash out your natural contour making your face look flat.

If you can, try putting on some false lashes, with lips, a bold lipstick will prevent your lips from ending up looking small.
I find nudes that aren't quite a bit darker can end up looking fairly close to the skin color making it hard to tell where your lips start and can sorta... Almost be hard to tell you have lips but if your nude lipstick is a couple of shades darker than you should be fine.

I'd suggest winged liner
