Good Foundation To Use To Fully Cover Up Acne Scars.

Can anyone please tell me good concealer, foundation and powder that I can use to fully cover up my acne scars?? I use Clinique acne solution for my foundation and powder and its pretty good but after a while you can start seeing the indentions of the scars and its really embarrassing and I hate it :( please help.

I don't think foundation can really cover-up your skins texture.
Although, certain bases tend to help smooth out your skins texture a little better than others.
I find that creams (wax and oil based ones)
Tend to really make the face look smooth due to the wax but it can make you skin look... Plasticy? And really obvious you have makeup on but I personally don't see anything wrong with that look.

Silicone based one are pretty good at smoothing out the skins texture but not quite as good as the more waxy types.

There's also water or alcohol based makeup but I haven't come across many that are full coverage.

I'd check out a cream foundation like the RCMA, MAC Full Coverage Cream, Kryolan Dermacolor, stuff like those.

For even more coverage you can use a powder foundation (I heard Kim k uses quite a few on top of her foundation)
But it can make your face look cakey if you do this.
My fave powder foundation is the MAC Studio Fix though.

As for concealer... These particular cream foundation are pretty much concealer just with more product so you can just add a little more where you need to conceal

I love the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, it does a great job filling in pores. The fullest full coverage I've used for foundation is the Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover and I set it with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder since there's no need to add more coverage on top of that.

Textural issues are tough. And I definitely think you'll get better results with a liquid or cream foundation, as long as it's long wearing rather than a powder foundation. Generally, powders don't adhere well to the skin as we as liquids or creams. Estee Lauder Double Wear Original or Maximum Coverage and Marc Jacobs Remarcable are my favorite full foundations. Although I only use the Estee Lauder Maximum Coverage as a facial concealer not as a full face foundation for discoloration. I prefer the Marc Jacobs Remarcable as far as smoothing over texture. All are matte, which in my opinion is better at visually blurring out textured skin. Don't use illuminators, highlighters or dewy foundations. You can use shimmery products where you don't have texture for a little glow, like cheekbones, bridge of nose and inner corners of eyes. Try to keep your skin matte with powder on top of foundation bit don't go overboard either. Too much powder build-up will also accentuate texture. Then use a bright, happy blush to brighten up your face.

You mention skin indentation in relation to your scaring. You can conceal the redness and discoloration, but you can't do too much about texture..and piling makeup on really isn't the way to go: Why? because any time you are trying to cover a raised area that has no pore for product to adhere to, you will end up having to keep reapplying and retouching which will end up looking like a cakey mess around the raised areas. It's all about strategic and minimal use of product (s).

When it comes to acne and skin texture issues, airbrush is the way to go, but not everyone has access to their own airbrush. For texture issues, I use L'Oreal's Magic Perfecting Base. This stuff is like Spackle for skin with more significant texture issues, and it does a great job at evening out texture. Then what I do is apply thin layer of foundation... wet sponge for liquids and flat topped brush for a cream foundation cream. Once the face is covered, I'll set it will a bit of powder and then go back in with my concealer and a tiny concealer brush to spot conceal problem areas. What you don't want to do when applying concealer is move it in a back and forth motion...doing so will only lift up the foundation that you just put down. Just gently paint over and blend any edges out, then set with a bit of powder.

For your skin type, I like to use Laura Mercier's Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation, Urban Decay Naked Skin and the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation. I may be in the minority on this one, but I really like MAC's Matchmaster foundation for your skin type. It's super easy to blend and has a very nice texture to it. It has more of a semi matte finish which, in my opinion is really great for your skin type because the finish isn't flat matte. It gives the skin a more dimensional, yet realistic finish.

Concealer wise, my favorites for your skin type are MUFE's Full Cover concealer and Cover FX's Maximum Camouflage Concealer.

Powder foundations can also be used...I like to use a dual finish, and my favorite is Graftobian's Dual Finish. In my opinion, this is one of the the best powder foundations on the market. It can go from sheer to full coverage, and can be applied wet very easily without looking streaky. It looks lovely, and once it's on the skin, it's pretty tenacious... very long wearing. Whatever you choose, make sure you keep your finishes consistent: No overt dew or illuminating products all over the skin. Products like that on a skin type like yours are best utilized as finishing touches to create more dimension if need be.  :)
